Sara's Story (1 minutes, 10 seconds)
I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar illness. I was sent to a
psychiatrist and started therapy. And during that time, she taught me how to journal. And that has
become one of my saving graces, and I continue to write. I've published a book, one of my dreams
come true. I've been on several medications and we work together in finding the ones that are
right for me. I don't play with my medications. And I continue to take them. I don't forget
to take them, because I know that if I do, one of those nasty symptoms might raise its ugly head. So,
another part of my recovery is going to support groups and having the kind of support that I need on
a day to day basis. I want you to know, and everyone to know, that recovery is so possible. And that
if I had not had all of this hope while I was struggling with my crisis during all of this time, I
might not have known that. But I am not alone. You are not alone. Recovery is possible.
