Donetta's Story (56 seconds)
In September 2001, I was in Washington, D.C. working for the
Department of Defense.
That didn't work out too well for me. I had a lot of post traumatic stress from that event that
happened on
September 11th, 2001. I ended up having a nervous breakdown. I
found myself in
Bryce Hospital, state mental institution, where I stayed for 30 days.
I received treatment. I left Bryce Hospital and I went into group home. Well today, I am happy to report
that I am now living in the community independently. I am also a member of
CONTACT: Wings Across
Alabama, Region 6. Continue to move forward, stay steady. I know it's not easy.
Recovery is not easy, it is very difficult. But continue to move forward and keep putting one step in
front of the other.
